Advanced Visual Systems (AVS),
a world leader in data visualization software and services
for over a decade, is providing technology, vision and
direction to leading software manufacturers and corporations
that are making visual analysis a core element of their
decision support practices and product development strategies.
AVS technology has helped create new insight to
sales, customer, product, brand and logistics information
processed by leading consumer metrics vendors, Web analytic
products, financial institutions and Fortune 2000 corporations.
AVS’ widely deployed business analytic software
offers unlimited data visualization techniques that can
be integrated and customized to present financial information
in nearly any way imaginable. Application developers and
system integrators create solutions using AVS software,
or, highly experienced AVS consultants develop custom
applications to exact specifications of an OpenViz client. |

At left, 50,000 data points
are represented in a “heat map” (A)
that permits the user to drag and shape the black
outlined region selector to choose a subset of the
data.
The subset selection is immediately represented
in an adjacent three-dimensional bar chart (B),
which with a single point-and-click selection produces
the two side-by-side stock charts at the bottom
of the example (C).
With just a few mouse clicks—and in less than
five seconds—it is possible to visually mine
50,000 integrated variables and begin reaching intelligent
conclusions about the data. Click

| AVS software is unique because
of the powerful interactive and data handling techniques
that permit large quantities of complex data to be quickly
understood. Information from any data source or application
can be integrated, visualized and delivered to decision
makers in new or existing applications, portals and dashboards.
Data visualization simplifies complex business processes
and instantly reveals hidden patterns, trends and anomalies
that effect everyday performance. |

Extract
data and results from legacy applications into new
Web-based analytic solutions; leverage past investments
but embrace new capabilities without abandoning
proven processes or technologies.
Create Web-based applications that
place powerful graphics side-by-side with raw and/or
processed data. Click on the visualization graphic
to “drill down” on the data and reveal
new table-based content or interactive graphics.
Perform overnight analysis and
deliver results via the Web to users who can then
define their own exploration into the underlying
data.
Integrate different data formats
to create single views of performance, exposure,
markets or any other metric.
Deploy visualization applications
that simplify complex financial data for users who
in the past would not have been able to comprehend
or utilize such information.
Reduce the cost and time associated
with producing and delivering analytics. |

| If you can envision it, AVS can
visualize it. With hundreds of component-based and other
techniques that can be mixed and customized to create
highly interactive visualization scenes, no other software
line can match AVS in ways to creatively and intuitively
present financial data. Draw from our vast library of
ready-to-use components and technologies—or create
your own using our rich development systems. AVS provides
you the freedom and power to access, manipulate and see
your data the way that makes the most sense for your business
or strategy. |
What
is the difference between data visualization and charting?
Charting software generally produces static images or
snapshots of data. Data visualizations are a dynamic
expression of data that can be filtered, aggregated
and further manipulated “on the fly” to
produce an enhanced analytic view of the data. Visualizations
are commonly directly linked to a business or analytic
process and permit ad-hoc query and graphic display
of the results.
Who are the most common end-users of data visualization?
Analysts and middle-to-senior management account for
approximately 15% to 30% of a typical user population
and are frequently the target users of data visualization
solutions. Large user populations commonly interact
with data visualizations through enterprise portals,
reporting solutions and customer analytics software.
What are the most common ways that data visualization
is being deployed to users?
Our experience suggests that deployments are split equally
between Web-based (thin client) and standalone or “applet”
(thick client) deployments. AVS supports both of these
paradigms as well as Java, .NET and ActiveX/COM and
almost all legacy development and deployment platforms.
How are data visualization applications created?
In-house development teams, system integrators or AVS
professional service consultants use AVS technology
to create data visualization applications or components
to be embedded in software solutions. |
AVS
consultants provide comprehensive training and help
our customers create imple-mentations of distinction.
Most AVS customers achieve ROI within twelve months—many
in a shorter period of time. As data visualization is
generally a component of a larger analytic initiative,
ROI must be measured in context. Rapid ROI is often
achieved because OpenViz improves content delivery,
preserves existing data and application investments,
enhances decision quality and distributes knowledge
more quickly and effectively than conventional reporting.
What differentiates AVS technologies?
AVS offers more visualization techniques and technologies
than any other software company and, in turn, an extremely
long lifecycle of options and deployment possibilities;
support for all leading development and deployment platforms
insures compatibility with new strategic directions
by our customers; dynamic interactivity enables an unmatchable
user experience; the ability to control every detail
of a data visualization empowers the creation of “brandable”
scenes; extraordinary data handling and analytic capabilities
relieve burden on associated systems and provide exceptional
performance.
