Advanced Visual Systems Inc. (AVS), founded in 1991, is the developer and primary distributor of five software products that are used in multiple sectors of the business and technical industries to present diverse forms of data in the form of easily understandable graphic representations. 

These “data visualizations” are distinguished from common computer graphics by virtue of a branded data processing and rendering paradigm.  Data visualization enables computer users to reach better and faster decisions by expressing the underlying information in such a way that patterns and trends are more effectively observed than through conventional forms of analysis.

Products and Services

OpenViz is a data visualization engine designed to provide highly interactive visual analysis to business applications in a wide range of industries. Built to fully leverage the power of the Internet, OpenViz is an open, standards-based development system that provides virtually unlimited possibilities for the conversion of all types of corporation information into easy-to-understand data visualizations.

AVS/Express is a software development system designed for programmers creating sophisticated data visualization-enabled applications and for individual end-users that wish to independently visualize and explore complex scientific, engineering, medical, manufacturing and other types of data.

Toolmaster is a comprehensive graphics library that is used to create charts and graphs and presentation-quality hardcopy output on major legacy and contemporary platforms.

Gsharp is a Windows and Unix-based software product that generates technical charts and graphs. It enables analysts, researchers, and other computer users to choose from a large gallery of graphics and with minimal technical skills create powerful data visualizations.

Data Visualization Timeline
 

1991: The dawn of scientific visualization.  AVS responds with its first product--which is still in current release and widespread deployment.
1994: Data visualization becomes a key process in engineering, manufacturing, medicine, earth science and scientific research.  AVS responds with its landmark AVS/Express product.
1996: Windows NT makes its debut and creates new demand for visualization on desktop.  AVS responds with Windows releases of its products and revolutionizes PC-based visualization.
1997: Business intelligence becomes an important theme at visionary corporations.  AVS/Express, Toolmaster and Gsharp are called to deliver some of the first results in BI.
1999: OpenViz makes its debut to serve the evolving ISV and enterprise market, where BI and the Internet have been fused to offer new dimensions in corporate decision making.
2002: Leading corporations and ISVs push beyond BI with visual analysis that extract information from multiple sources and create powerhouse solutions that improve business processes.
