McDonald
Bradley Selects AVS OpenViz Platform to Create Business Intelligence
Solutions
(Waltham, MA,
March 2, 2001 6:30 am EST) McDonald Bradley, Inc. (MBI), a Washington,
D.C.-area consulting firm specializing in custom software applications
and IT solutions for commercial and government clients such as AT&T,
Lockheed Martin, GTE, EPA, HUD, and Intelligence Community agencies,
has selected OpenViz® from Advanced Visual Systems as its newest
visualization platform.
McDonald Bradleys
Advanced Technology Division designs and builds 2D and 3D business
intelligence tools to help clients quickly and efficiently increase
their understanding of the information found in complex and often
diverse databases. These PC or Unix-based, Web-enabled applications
can integrate and present real-time, dynamic, static and historic
data in a highly interactive, intuitive and graphical manner. The
visual framework and design of the applications provides users with
the ability to conduct sophisticated analysis and data mining to
enhance the decision-making process.
After
an extensive market survey, we selected OpenViz for our newest visualization
platform, in large part because AVS understands the needs of the
business user and the tool kit is focused on helping users easily
and quickly make critical business decisions, said Danny Proko,
MBIs Director of Advanced Technologies. We also were
impressed by the softwares C++ and Java capability,
added Proko.
The company
plans several projects using OpenViz, including an application for
a client in the healthcare field to track patient status and the
impact of the hospital facilities on that status, and an application
for an Oil & Gas industry client to show the impact of modifications
to the clients internal network characteristics and to analyze
what-if scenarios to ensure that the client maintains
all critical capabilities after a network upgrade. OpenViz will
also be used for a series of applications for the Intelligence Community,
in the areas of training, resource allocation and assessment of
gaps in intelligence.
According to
Steve Sukman, CEO of Advanced Visual Systems, We are seeing
a rapidly growing movement in organizations toward using visualization
technology to better understand financial, marketing, customer and
trend analysis information. We are very pleased that McDonald Bradley
has selected OpenViz as the platform for building custom solutions
for their customers. It is a testament to OpenVizs strong
visualization capabilities and its flexibility in integrating into
a wide variety of applications and architectures.
