PeopleSoft Integrates OpenViz Data Visualization Software from AVS into PeopleSoft 8 Enterprise Performance Management Suite

Advanced Visual Systems Inc. today announced that its OpenViz data visualization technology will be incorporated into PeopleSoft's industry-leading Enterprise Performance Management business analytics, enabling highly interactive 2D and 3D graphical presentations of critical business data drawn from a vast array of sources.

PeopleSoft 8 Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) provides business analytics encompassing workforce, customer relationship management, profitability and supply chain metric analysis. These embedded analytics empower PeopleSoft 8 customers with continuous planning capabilities, enabling them to rapidly respond to shifts in the marketplace and adjust strategies accordingly. PeopleSoft EPM will be enhanced with AVS' OpenViz data presentation techniques to produce high-quality interactive charts, graphs and other "scenes" in which users can easily explore and quickly comprehend complex and sizeable amounts of business information.

According to Louis Olds, vice president of product management for PeopleSoft's Enterprise Performance Management division, "We evaluated many visualization products for inclusion into the EPM suite. Our selection of AVS technology was based on a number of distinguished capabilities of OpenViz, including the extensive number of customizable data presentation techniques, ease of integration into our existing application framework, the simple data interface approach and graphics quality. Most important, however, was its ability to fulfill the 'zero code on the client' and one hundred percent internet philosophy that is the essence of PeopleSoft 8."

The OpenViz embedded analytics in EPM 8.3 will be server-generated and feature extensive drill-down, manipulation and integration of solution-specific data from warehouses for customer relationship, financial, human resource and supply chain management. Users can intuitively view and explore an array of different Web- page embedded scenes that provide real-time snapshots of performance and immediately modify their strategic financial plans to increase overall profitability and efficiency.
